Lucille on Telephone

We went to the Library for the first time here yesterday. It was quite good, great dvd selection. Got lots of animal dvds out for Matti and he couldn't wait, so watched almost all yesterday afternoon. Lucille loved to pull books and dvds out from the bottom shelves...so it was not a too relaxing visit there :-). She also pushed the book trolley around and laughed loudly while doing so, enjoying it so much.
I got some books out as well and got stuck in 'Co-creation', which is part of the 'Ringing Cedars'series. I just wanted to read a tiny bit in bed after the kids had fallen asleep and when I checked the clock again it was 1.30am - waaaayyy, past my bedtime. Great read though and sooo inspirational. The series had been recommended to me by many lately and I'm so happy I finally got my hands on one.
Don't have time to go into it now, but check them out if you are interested on google. They have never been advertised and just spread by word of mouth.
Lucille had one of her first telephone conversations today, with Mutti, she gave the phone back to me, back to her ear, or held on to it and listened intensely, plus saying a few things as well.

standing more and more

lucille has been standing freely more and more often, and did one little step today, so it's probably not long until she'll be walking. We went to an ABA (Australian Breastfeeding Association) meeting this morning, which was really nice. There were lots of older children as well, some interesting toys and many mums. I really enjoyed it...always nice to meet some new likeminded souls :-).
Afterwards we had a rest at home, Lucille a sleep and then we went to the pool for a swim. First time in for me - it was wonderful. It was quite cool, but nice, and when we got out, we just layed on the hot rocks to warm up again. There were many kids for Matti to play with and Mums and Dads for me to talk to. Great village life.
Oh and the views from the pool area...Wow. Sorry, no photos, as I forgot my camera...plus was wet anyway :-). Lucille loved the swim.
Then we went to letterbox and the portable dvd player for the english dvds had arrived already...so Matti is just watching a movie and we are off to bed soon.
We had a lovely evening rain shower, which the lawns and watertanks are very happy about.

weekend

We had a great weekend - went for a long bushwalk up in the highlands on Saturday morning. It's gorgeous up there and we got a good workout, climbing up all the hills. Afterwards Justin and Matti watched a movie and I went grocery shopping with Lucille.
We just pottered around the rest of the day.
Sunday was Coffee Connect, a monthly get together of the village members. There were 3 speakers, a Personal Trainer, a Yoga Teacher and the Tai Chi and Kung Fu Instructor. Matti played the whole time in the sand, I got to listen and afterwards chat to some people.
Matti, Lucille and I stayed on for a swim and Justin came down later as well. He had been doing some work around the house, while we were out of the way. Then we had dinner and the weekend was over...
Lucille went into the pool as well. She loves it.
I plan on going with her most days, so she will learn it along with learning how to walk :-).
We saw some kangaroos right next to our block as well, which the photos show...
Matti has been practicing tying his shoes...and they were both very happy to see their daddy again after two weeks. Lucille was quite shy at first and hiding, but after a shower 'the ice was broken again'.

Ok, I forgot all the 'juicy' bits - we have a little person in the house who hasn't been brought up on nappies and usually communicates when she needs a poo especially, quite reliable, most mornings...well, on Sunday she was adamaned she didn't need to go, stretching her little strong legs, only to keep it in till the evening and then do it on the floor like a little doggy ;-)...well, the person who least likes poo, found it, and the person who least likes it, also missed some of it, only to later find his hand in it by accident :-))), hehe...it was really funny for all of us, also to the 'person' who didn't like it ;-).

I also forgot to say that my all favourite footy team, the Saints, have achieved the Grand Final, and I'm actually quite excited about GF day now :-). My dear friend Gavin, with whom I lived when I studied in Perth, is a very devote (absolute crazy ;-) ) ST Kilda fan, so my first real exposure to Aussie Rules Footy was that and I must say, my heart still beats for them, and they DO deserve to win the Grand Final anyway, more than anybody else, since it's been a while :-). So, Go Saints :-). (I just spoke to Gavin actually and he has been delirious, has bought flights to Melbourne, has been given the opportunity to buy GF Tickets (for a fortune...) and is soo excited...and everyone who knows him, just feels for him and hopes the Saints will win, just for his sake :-).)

Oh yes, and Justin and Matti found some cane toads when they emptied the overflows and the golf club Matti purchased at the OP shop finally got used for what it was meant - Cane Toad Golf :-)....now, that was indead a juicy affair :-).

Lucille's new skills - Matti's new skills - Matti and his dream Motorbikes

Lucille climbed onto a little bench today and got a new view out of our window - glad we have security screens, so I don't need to worry that she might fall out. She was so proud of herself and kept doing it over and over.
Also this morning, I had Matti on my lap, she saw a book on the other side of us, and she didn't try to climb over us, but actually looked and then walked around us. Sounds simple, but it's incredible to witness how the brain suddenly works differently, as she used to just try to climb over us, straightest way there :-).
She also discovered how to open the toilet lid...I think I mentioned that already? She pushes cars around, and looks at books a lot.

Ok, to Matti, he came to me today and said, I show you something, he took a pen and paper and drew a Y. Then he showed me a few other letters, copying some of them off the pen he was drawing with.
Also fascinating to see how they do just learn to write, at their own pace.

He is also very much enjoying to build cubby houses....I'm the architect and he is the builder.

We went to a Motorbike 'garage' yesterday and took some photos of the machines he wants to have when he is older - he can't wait to have a motorcrossbike :-).
There were some awesome bikes there. Motorbiking is very popular in QLD.

We also saw 'SWELL', a sculpture exhibition along the beach in Currumbin. Very interesting.

The weather has been lovely, sunny, mid 20s and a beautiful breeze. We have the whole house open and it is soooooooo comfy.
Justin is finally coming back today, which we are all happy about.

About Me

My photo
I'm a mother of two beautiful children. We are parenting in an autonomous way, not schooling and learning by living, taking each other seriously and all of our needs into account. So our life is very rich and exciting as we have the time to 'smell the roses' :-) and live in the moment, 'going with the flow'. We are part of a sustainable community. It's wonderful to live in harmony with the earth and for the children to grow up conscious of their environment. I'm a Yoga Instructor and BodyTalk Practitioner (www.bodytalksystem.com). BodyTalk stimulates your body’s innate ability to heal itself on all levels and no other modality has ever made that much sense to me...hence why I've become a practitioner:-). I also work as an independent Sales Advisor for the Learning Ladder, promoting and selling educational books and toys, facilitating get togethers in people's homes or public centres, as the products are only available via direct selling and it's something that the kids and I do together to 'earn' our home library. With two little children, my main yoga practice is 'living my yoga' in whatever I do.
